Current Student Maintenance

Current Student Maintenance - Relations bar

Use the Relations bar to:

list family and guardian relationships
list the constituencies of the relations
list the contact details of the relations
email relations.

Use Synergetic if you need to add a new relation, as this function is not supported by SynWeb. See Adding new relations in the Synergetic Current students manual.

Note: Relationships represent how one member of the community relates to another. For example, a mother-daughter relationship.
Constituencies define how community members relate to your organisation. For example, whether the community member is a student, staff member or debtor. Constituencies can be system or user-defined.

Grid area

The grid area consists of:

key fields for each of the student's relations
command links that allows the relation to be emailed from the student's list.

Grid area fields

Field		Description

ID		Synergetic ID of the relation.
Relation		Relationship from the perspective of the student.
Constituencies		Constituencies that the relation belongs to. Constituencies that are displayed in: UPPERCASE are Synergetic constituencies. For example, the @DEB constituency is displayed as DEB (debtor). lowercase are user-defined constituencies. For example, the counc (school council) user-defined constituency is displayed as counc.
Use SMS	Option for sending SMS (short message service) text messages. This is maintained on the Relations tab of Current Student Maintenance in Synergetic.
	Selection		Description
	Blank		Not selected.
	Default		Send SMS messages to the relation's default mobile phone.
	No		No SMS messages are to be sent.
	Occupation		Send SMS messages to the relation's occupation mobile phone.
	Personal		Send SMS messages to the relation's personal mobile phone.
Use Email	Option for sending emails. This is maintained on the Relations tab of Current Student Maintenance in Synergetic.

	Blank		Not selected.
	Default		Send emails to the relation's default email address.
	No		No emails are to be sent.
	Occupation		Send emails to the relation's occupation email address.
	Personal		Send emails to the relation's personal email address.

	Add a new relation.
	Edit the selected relation.
	Delete the selected relation.

Common fields

Search Filter	The Search Filter field is located at the top of the Student Selector. This field can be used to filter students by any of the information displayed in the Student Selector. For example to filter students by name simply type either the student's: last name first name last name then first name separated by a comma. To filter students by year level simply type the student's year level in the Search Filter field.

Common buttons

Button	Description
	Create a new student. See Creating new students.
	Display the Current Student Maintenance Search Criteria window. You can update the search criteria and search for new students. See Searching for students.
	Customise how the bars are displayed. See Customising navigation bars in the Introduction manual.
	Create a new task relating to the current student. See Managing tasks in the Introduction manual.
	Click: to expand all bars to collapse all bars to refresh information for the selected staff member.
