Description

The MailFmt setting is used to determine the default formats of the mailing names used at your organisation:

Mail Name Primary
Mail Name Joint
Mail Salutation Primary
Mail Salutation Joint.

In addition, you can override the mailing name formats of an individual student from the Personal tab of Current Student Maintenance. See Current Student Maintenance - Personal tab in the Current students manual.

This setting is decided during the implementation of Synergetic at your organisation.

In the following example, the mail formats are displayed for Mr John Bill Harry Shue and his spouse Mrs Gene Mary Shue.

Default value

The default value is 3.

Setting a different value

If you override the setting, all subsequent new or changed records use the new formats. Contact Synergetic Management Systems if you need to change all records to the new formats.

Update the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Maintaining configuration files.
