How ranking works

If you have fewer places available than students who have applied, then you offer places based on the student's ranking. Prospective students are ranked one to n based on a combination of their:

Manual versus automatic ranking

If your organisation ranks prospective students automatically:

You maintain the valid values for the status and priority in Synergetic lookup tables:

luFutureStatus lookup table

In the luFutureStatus example below, A and W can be set to the same ranking group.

Lookup Table Maintenance - luFutureStatus

Note: The SynergyMeaning of a luFutureStatus entry also influences ranking.

See luFutureStatus lookup table in the System maintenance manual.

luFuturePriority lookup table

Lookup Table Maintenance - luFuturePriority

In the luFuturePriority lookup table you specify the numeric priority (FuturePrioritySeq) given to each entry. The lower the number, the higher the priority. In the example shown, a student receiving a scholarship has the highest priority of 1, as they have been definitely awarded a place.

See luFuturePriority lookup table in the System maintenance manual.
