Description

The Archive:Path setting is used to set the archive path for PDF files for archived student reports.

See Student Reports windows in the Assessments and reports manual.

Default value

The default value is C:\Synergetic\Archive.

This saves files to your local PC. This is fine if:

• you are the only person who is involved with archiving student reports
• the PC is backed up regularly
• you are using Synergetic.

  Note: If you are using SynWeb, make sure you change the file path to a relevant directory, as a C:\ file path will archive reports to the web server.

Setting a different value

You can set the Value field to a different value on the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Maintaining configuration files.

It is recommended that you specify the Value using a UNC format. That is, using the following convention minimises problems:

\\Server\Directory

where:

• \\Server is the server name using a Universal Naming Convention
• \Directory is the directory path on the specified server.

This path is:

• available to all authorised members of staff
• is backed up regularly (assuming that your file server is backed up regularly).
