luTransport lookup table

Description

The luTransport lookup table is used to define:

specific bus routes that are used on one or more days by students
general modes of transport that are used to and from your organisation.

These are used on the Transport tab of Current Student Maintenance. See Current Student Maintenance - Transport tab in the Current students manual.

Specific bus routes

You can set up bus routes that you want to charge students for. For example, two bus routes are defined because students are charged different amounts. Charging is achieved using the fee codes.

General modes of transport

You can define general modes of transport, such as car, taxi and so on.

For example, you can have a student that takes the bus most days but they travel by taxi on the other days. You can also record other information about the arrangement in the Extra Description field.

Fields

Field	Description

Code	Unique code used to identify the method of transport. In the following example, the code BUSA is being selected. Tip: You can include the buses' departure times in the code, if you need to be more specific rather than AM and PM. In the following example, the Berwick bus departs at 3:45pm, 4:45pm and 5:45pm.
Description	Description as it appears on the Transport Code field when searching for transport methods. In the example, the description Bus Route A is being selected.
FeeCode	Fee code used to charge transport to students. Type in the value of the fee code. See Maintaining debtor fees in the Debtor manual. The fee code is used to link the transport route to the debtor charge. See Creating student transport charges in the Debtors manual. Note: Ensure that the code is correct, as a drop-down list is not available.
Synergy- Meaning	Meaning used by Synergetic for some functions. Select the SynergyMeaning from the drop-down list.

	PrivateBus	Contracted private bus. For example, you engage a private bus company to provide bus services for your routes. These costs are charged back using the Student Transport Charges window. See Creating student transport charges in the Debtors manual.
	PrivateCar	Private vehicle, such as a family or personal car.
	PublicTransport	Examples of public transport include: public buses trains trams taxis.
	SelfDrive	Self-driven vehicle, such as a bus owned by your organisation.
Capacity	Capacity of the transport mode. For example, two buses service the routes: A smaller, cheaper bus with a seating capacity of 24 for route 123. A larger bus with a seating capacity of 53 for route 245.
ActiveFlag	Select to show if a mode of transport is actively used. Deselect if a mode of transport is no longer actively used. Note: An inactive mode of transport does not appear in the drop-down list, but can be reinstated if necessary.
ExternalSystem Type	Type of external system that provides the lookup table data.
ExternalSystem Code	Code for the language in the external system.
ModifiedDate	Date and time the lookup table entry was last modified.
ModifiedUser	User that last modified the lookup table entry.
