Creating new strands, domains and dimensions for AusVELS

The Australian curriculum uses different subject assessment definitions to previous result types. The following table illustrates some differences between VELS and AusVELS terminology:

AusVELS new terminology

See http://www.ausvels.info/ for more information about AusVELS terminology.

To use the Subject Assessment Other Definition Maintenance window to copy subject assessment definitions:

  1. Click Assess > Subject Assessment Other Definition Maintenance.

The Subject Assessment Other Definition Maintenance window is displayed.

  2. Click Copy from Other Year... (ellipsis) button to copy Strands, Domains and Dimensions information from a previous reporting period.

The Strands, Domains and Dimensions from the selected year are displayed in the grid areas.

See Copying subject assessment definitions from one year to another.

If you have to create a new subject assessment area for AusVELS, use the process for creating a new VELS subject assessment area. See Creating new VELS subject assessment areas.
