Creating and configuring new security groups

You can group users according to the job they perform and then give the group security access to the functions that they require.

This can save a lot of time and save you having to configure individual security permissions for each individual user. Also, see Group/User Security Maintenance - Groups view.

To create a new security group:

1. Select Module > System > Group/User Security Maintenance.

   The Group/User Security Maintenance window is displayed.

   

2. Click the Groups radio button to view all listed groups.
3. Click New Group.

   The Create New Synergetic Security Group window is displayed.

   

4. Type in the group code and description so that you can easily identify it.
5. Click Finish.
6. Select the modules, program and tabs and, if applicable, fields or jumps within the tabs that the new group is allowed to access.
7. Click .
