CommentName configuration setting

Description

The CommentName setting is used to determine whether a question mark (?) used in a comment field uses the student's:

• preferred name
• given name
• preferred formal name.

Default value

The default value is 0. The student's preferred name is used by default.

Setting a different value

Enter 1 or 2 in the Value field to specify a different name format where:

• 0 is the student's preferred name
• 1 is the student's given name and
• 2 is the student's preferred formal name.

In this example, the student's given name is used instead. See Maintaining configuration files for more information.

Note: In previous versions of Synergetic this configuration setting was called CommentUseGiven.
