Description

The EnableSelfLock configuration setting determines whether a user can edit the same class in separate web connections.

Default value

The default value is True.

Users cannot edit the same class in separate web connections. This prevents them from overwriting changes they have made in the first web connection.

The drawback of this approach is that if users close their web page they are not able to edit the class until a set period has elapsed. See ExpirySeconds configuration setting.

Setting a different value

Clear the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window to set the value to False. See Maintaining configuration files.

Users can edit the same class in separate connections; even when they did not properly close the web page. The drawback of this approach is that they can edit the results of a class from several web connections at the same time; they can overwrite changes they make.
