Creating sports

You can create Sports for your organisation's sport program. For example:

• basketball
• cricket
• tennis.

Note: Sports are the level one subject class categories of Sports Maintenance. See the luSubjectClassCategory lookup table in the Synergetic System maintenance manual.

To create sports:

1. Select Curriculum > Sports Maintenance from the SynWeb main menu.

   Note: The title of the Co-Curricular Maintenance menu item is determined by the MenuText field in the luFileTypeProgram lookup table. See the luFileTypeProgram lookup table in the Synergetic System maintenance manual.

   The Set Sport Search Criteria window is displayed.

   

   Note: The windows in Sports Maintenance use the words Sport, Squad and Team. These descriptions are set using the SubjectClassCategoryLevel fields on the luFileTypeProgram lookup table. See the luFileTypeProgram lookup table in the Synergetic System maintenance manual.

2. Click .

   The Create New Sport window is displayed.

   

   Tip: You can also display the Create New Sport window by clicking in the SynWeb toolbar.

3. Select a Campus.
4. Type a Code for the sport. For example, Basketball or BB.
5. Type a Description for the sport. For example, Basketball.
6. Select the Sport learning area. See Creating co-curricular learning areas.

   

   Note: The title of this field is determined by the LearningAreaOverride field. See the luFileTypeProgram lookup table in the Synergetic System maintenance manual.

7. Select a Staff Member to oversee the sport.

   

8. Click .

   The sport is created and displayed in the Sport Selector.

   

9. Repeat steps 2 through 8 to create additional sports.
