Configuring publication of results

There are two main methods of releasing results on the Community Portal. You can use either the:

• Publish Date model, where you specify the date all results are displayed on the portal. All results that are recorded within the selected teaching period are published on the Community Portal from the Publish Date.
• Result Date model, where individual results are displayed when their specified release date is reached.

  Note: The Result Date model gives you greater control over which results are published when, but requires much more work from teachers, who must select a publication date for each result.

Regardless of which result publishing method you use, you can also configure the Community Portal to:

• Hide individual results with Show Markbook results in portal flags. See Selecting results to display with the Print flag.
• Hide results for specific file types, for example non-academic classes. See Hiding results for specific file types.
• Display summary reports for all assessment areas. See Creating a summary report for all assessment areas.
• Hide results for specific year levels. See Customising the portal per year level.
• Display only classes that have recorded results. See ShowWithResultsOnly configuration setting.

Configuring the Publish Date model

To configure the Publish Date model:

1. Select Module > System > Configuration File Maintenance.

   The Configuration File Maintenance window is displayed.

2. Find CommunityPortal.

   The Community Portal configuration settings are displayed.

3. Find CommunityPortal:Students:Results:UseResultDates.
4. Clear the Value field to set it to False. See UseResultDates configuration setting.

   

5. Select Module > Students > File Semester Maintenance.

   Note: Your organisation may have configured Synergetic to use another word for semester. For example, the program may be called File Term Maintenance.

   The File Semester tab of the Student File Semester Maintenance window is displayed.

   

6. Select the Publish Date for the current year and semester. All results recorded for this year and semester are published once this date has been reached.
7. Click .

Configuring the Result Date model

To configure the Results Date model:

1. Select Module > System > Configuration File Maintenance.

   The Configuration File Maintenance window is displayed.

2. Find CommunityPortal.

   The Community Portal configuration settings are displayed.

3. Find CommunityPortal:Students:Results:UseResultDates
4. Select the Value field to set it to True. See UseResultDates configuration setting.

   

5. Select Module > Assess > Subject Assessment Area Maintenance.

   The Summary tab of Subject Assessment Maintenance is displayed.

6. Select the Result Dates Used field on each subject assessment area you want to display on the portal.

   

   Note: Under the Result Dates model, teachers must specify the date when each result they record results becomes available using the button on the Assessment tab of Student Results Maintenance. If the date is not specified, the result is not published on the Community Portal.
