Transitioning subject assessment areas from AusVELS to Victorian Curriculum F-10

You can transition subject assessments from AusVELS to Victorian Curriculum by replacing AusVELS field values with Victorian Curriculum F-10 values on the Area sub-tab of the Area tab of Subject Assessment Maintenance.

Most AusVELS subject assessments should be transitioned immediately. Only EAL and languages other than English are to be replaced as the Victorian Curriculum F-10 is rolled out.

The following table shows the transition timetable for languages:

To transition an AusVELS subject assessment area to Victorian Curriculum F-10:

1. Select Module > Assessments > Subject Assessment Area Maintenance.

   The Set Subject Assessment Search Criteria window is displayed.

   Tip: You can also access the Set Subject Assessment Search Criteria window by clicking .

2. Update the search criteria to locate the AusVELS subject assessment you want to transition to the Victorian Curriculum F-10 framework.
3. Click .
4. Select the AusVELS subject assessment you want to transition to the Victorian Curriculum F-10 framework.

   

   The Summary sub-tab of the Summary tab of the Subject Assessment Maintenance window is displayed.

5. Select the subject assessment area to transition. See Searching for subjects and assessment areas.

   

   The Area sub-tab of the Area tab of Subject Assessment Maintenance is displayed.

   

6. Select Victorian Curriculum F-10 continuum from the Result Type drop-down list.

   

7. Click next to the External Link field.

   The Victorian Curriculum Search window is displayed.

   

8. Select the Strand/Mode record in the grid area that corresponds to the currently selected subject assessment area.

   

9. Click .
10. Repeat steps 5 through 9 to transition the remaining AusVELS subject assessment areas for the selected subject assessment to the Victorian Curriculum F-10 framework.

    

11. Repeat steps 4 through 9 to transition additional AusVELS subject assessments to the Victorian Curriculum F-10 framework.
