Updating MS Query queries for the single database structure

To update an MS Query query for the single database structure:

  1. Open Microsoft Excel.
  2. Create an MS Query for either:

    See Extracting data using the Microsoft Query wizard in the Extracting data manual.

  3. Click the Data tab.
  4. Click Connections.

    The Workbook Connections window is displayed.

  5. Select the query.
  6. Click Properties button (Workbook connections window).

  7. Click the Definition tab.

    The Definition tab is displayed.

  8. Update:

    Connection string window (Fields updated)

  9. Click OK button.

    The SQL Server Login window is displayed.

  10. Type your username into the Login ID field.
  11. Type your password into the Password field.
  12. Click OK button (Export Format).

    The following error is displayed.

  13. Click OK button.
  14. Repeat steps 5 through 7.
  15. Update the database in the Command text field.

    Note: You need to replace the dbo to extrafinance if you are updating a SynergeticExtraFinance MS Query query.

  16. Click OK button.
  17. Repeat steps 2 through 16 to update additional MS Query queries.
  18. Click Save.
