Timetabling process overview

To timetable by exception using Primary Time:

1. Review the timetable preparation checklist.
2. Define the timetable structure. This includes defining:
   • days, periods and breaks
   • specialist rooms
   • specialist teachers
   • year groups
   • specialist subjects.
3. Defining curriculums. This includes:
   • allocating subjects to year groups
   • joining multiple subjects and year groups
   • cross-checking allocations.

     Tip: It is useful to clear out existing information when you first start using Primary Time. See Removing data from the Year Group Allocation tab.

4. Schedule year groups. This includes:
   • scheduling manually
   • scheduling automatically
   • reviewing schedules
   • changing timetables.
5. Output timetables. This includes outputting:
   • Master Exception Report
   • Master Class Report to Excel for Synergetic.
6. Get timetables into Synergetic.
7. Create timetables for new terms, years and week two of a 10-day timetable.
