Timetable Maintenance - Timetable Group tab

Use the Timetable Group tab to maintain details of the number of days in your timetable cycle and the number of periods per day.

To open the Timetable Group tab:

Select Module > Students > Timetable Maintenance from the main menu.
The Select tab of the Timetable Maintenance window is displayed.

Select the file type, year and term required.
Click the Timetable Group tab.
The Timetable Group tab of the Timetable Maintenance window is displayed.

Field	Description
Code	Code for the timetable group. This allows you to have more than one active timetable. For example, different timetables for the junior and senior school.
Description	Description of the timetable group.
Cycle Days	Number of days in the timetable cycle. For example, your organisation might have a: weekly rotating timetable of 5 cycle days (Monday to Friday) fortnightly rotating timetable of 10 cycle days (Monday to Friday, Monday to Friday) rotating timetable of 7 cycle days (Monday to Tuesday the following week, restarting on Wednesday to Thursday the following week and so on).
Actual Days in Week	Number of teaching days in the week. For example, a timetable that teaches Monday to Friday has 5 teaching days. Note: This field counts the number of days in a week, not a cycle. For example, fortnightly timetables usually have 5 days in a week. However, organisations that teach classes on Saturdays would have 6 days in a week, and organisations that do not teach classes on Fridays would have 4.
Periods	Number of periods in a day. For example, 6 periods.
Max Load	Maximum number of lessons that staff can be allocated per timetable cycle. For example, 25. Used for determining staff substitution in SynWeb.
Create Absence Events	Select to enable the creation of absence events when marking nonattendances on the Attendance window. See Attendance window in the Attendance and absence events manual. Clear to disable the creation of absence events when marking nonattendances for certain classes. For example, when marking non-compulsory sporting events there is no need for an absence event to be created that requires follow up.

	Go to the first record.
	Go back 10 records.
	Go to the previous record.
	Go to the next record.
	Go forward 10 records.
	Go to the last record.
	Insert a new record before the highlighted record.
	Delete the current record.
	Save any changes you have made to the current record into the database. Changes are automatically saved when you move to another record.
	Discard any changes you have made on the current record.
	Apply selected schedule details to a new timetable config. See Copying timetable schedules.
